About Us

Background

Temporal Innovations is a developing offshoot of TechnoFrolics, the interactive exhibit and dancing science-artwork design studio founded by David Durlach in 1988. We created this site, first posted in early 2010, to further describe, develop, and apply, the powerful FrameGlide software environment behind TechnoFrolics' popular Spin Browser™ video explorer system, installed since 1999 in scores of venues around the globe.

Historically, our system's main application area has been within museums, aquariums, and zoos, with additional activity within trade shows, medical conferences, and most recently, medical procedure settings. However with the existing, and upcoming, powerful data filtering and data fusing features, the system is already proving of great interest to researchers across diverse disciplines; we expect applications within the fields of animal behavior, meteorology, sports, surveillance, factory automation, healthcare, ballistics, and more.

NOTE: Previously (and on TechnoFrolics' site until we find time to update it), we used our "Spin Browser" trademark to refer jointly to the rotary dial, and the critically important patented software environment supporting it, as in "Spin Browser™ video explorer". However, this has caused significant confusion, including leading people to believe the substantial element comprising our system is the dial, when in fact it is the underlying software. Furthermore, it was often unclear to people that our software environment could be (and is) used in many contents not even employing a dial. Therefore, moving forward we are using "Spin Browser" to refer to the dial element only and "FrameGlide™" to refer to the associated software environment, as in "FrameGlide™ video explorer with Spin Browser™ dial".
